Day 92 – Garrison Keillor Reads 50 Shades of Grey
Before we get to the Garrison Keillor impression, today’s audio does not contain particularly graphic passages of 50 Shades of Grey, nor any vulgarity.
When you think of Garrison Keillor, you may think of A Prairie Home Companion. Keillor created the iconic public radio show back in 1973. After over 40 years on the air, he recorded the final episode earlier this month. Even if you don’t know anything about the show, you may be familiar with his storytelling and monologue style. As we wind down the 100 Voices in 100 Days, Garrison Keillor’s was a voice that needed to be attempted, if only for this episode.
There are funnier takes on 50 Shades of Grey readings. Gilbert Gottfried’s recording is not parody, but it is amazing. Other impressionists have parodied it to death. But when I thought of all the things Garrison Keillor could read, this was the one thing that made me laugh a bit.
