My First Number One Song

I’ve said it before.  I love my career because each day is full of surprises.  In the last few months alone, I’ve received some incredibly flattering inquires from well-known TV shows, radio shows, production companies, and entertainment groups.  And while some of these inquiries lead to me being hired for something amazing, some don’t.  Even then, they’re great connections for the future.  I just do my absolute best and let the chips fall where they may.

A number of weeks ago, Hilly (a DJ from the UK) contacted me and asked if I could provide him with a specific style of voice delivery for a new hard house track he was working on.  After chatting a bit, I had a pretty good idea what he was looking for, and sent him some samples.  Within a few days, I recorded my part of the song, and sent my vocals.

I was kind of shocked to hear back from him after several weeks to find out that the song, “Real F*cking Good” had hit number one on the ToolboxDigital Top 100!  According to the site, it was one of the most popular tracks of the last few months.

It’s opportunities like these that really have made this a dream career – and I hope I can keep adding to my list of surprises.
